Road Improvement Proposal for the Intersection of Av. de los Juegos Bolivarianos and Av. del Toril, Focusing on Vehicular Flow, Safety and Universal Accessibility

This proposal aims to design a comprehensive roadway solution for the intersection between Av. de los Juegos Bolivarianos and Av. del Toril, with the objective of improving vehicular traffic flow, ensuring road safety for all users, and guaranteeing universal accessibility conditions. The intervention addresses the need to resolve issues caused by high traffic volumes, dangerous maneuvers, and deficiencies in pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure.For the development of the study, technical criteria from traffic engineering, road safety regulations, and principles of universal design were applied. Field surveys, traffic volume analyses, critical point evaluations, and circulation simulations were conducted to identify the most efficient and sustainable solution. The proposal includes the geometric redesign of the intersection, implementation of vertical and horizontal signage, installation of ramps and accessible pedestrian crossings, as well as the optimization of traffic light cycles.This initiative seeks not only to enhance the functionality of the road node but also to promote inclusive, safe, and orderly mobility, in line with sustainable urban planning guidelines.
