“Technical Evaluation of Industrial Safety Management and its Impact on the Identification, Control and Mitigation of Occupational Risk Factors in Industrial Processes”

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the management of Industrial Safety and Hygiene and its level of identification, reduction, and control of occupational risks present in the industry's production processes. To achieve this objective, a quantitative approach and a non-experimental research design were employed, using documentary and field methods. These methods included the use of occupational risk matrix checklists, document review, frequency and severity rate analysis, and technical risk assessments for each workstation. The results, derived from a combination of techniques, provided concrete indicators of the effectiveness of the management system and existing working conditions. The findings indicated 75% compliance with the responsible performance criteria in Occupational Safety and Health, highlighting positive aspects in areas such as inspections, planning, participation in committees, and emergency control. Similarly, considerable shortcomings were found in training, document management, and statistical analysis. Additionally, the examination of nonconformities revealed a high concentration of "very urgent" situations, requiring immediate action. The risk assessment by job position showed high and critical levels in operational functions, such as production and maintenance, while the risk rate trend indicated steady improvement, reflecting the effectiveness of the preventive measures implemented. In conclusion, industrial safety management directly influences risk reduction, demonstrating that proper planning, effective controls, and a strong prevention culture can reduce incidents and promote well-being in the workplace.
