Autoestima, depresión y preocupación sexual y su relación con las actitudes hacia el uso del condón en personas que viven con VIH en Villavicencio, Colombia

Las personas que viven con VIH pueden experimentar dificultades emocionales e interpersonales vinculadas con su sexualidad, las cuales podrían estar asociadas con sus actitudes hacia las prácticas preventivas. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la relación entre las dimensiones de la sexualidad y las actitudes hacia el uso del condón en personas que viven con VIH en Villavicencio, Colombia. Se desarrolló una investigación cuantitativa, no experimental, transversal, descriptiva y correlacional. Participaron 150 personas de entre 18 y 35 años, seleccionadas mediante muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Se aplicaron la Escala de Sexualidad y la Escala Multidimensional de Actitudes hacia el Uso del Condón durante el año 2026. El análisis incluyó estadísticos descriptivos, prueba de normalidad de Shapiro-Wilk y correlaciones rho de Spearman. Los resultados mostraron que la autoestima sexual se relacionó positiva y significativamente con la confiabilidad, el placer, el estigma, la negociación, la vergüenza y la actitud total hacia el condón. La depresión sexual presentó correlaciones negativas y significativas con la confiabilidad, el placer, la negociación, la vergüenza y la actitud total, aunque no se relacionó significativamente con el estigma. La preocupación sexual no mostró asociaciones significativas con ninguna dimensión de las actitudes hacia el condón. En términos descriptivos, las actitudes fueron predominantemente favorables o intermedias, mientras que la negociación constituyó el área con mayores dificultades. Se concluye que la autoestima y la depresión sexual se relacionan con las actitudes preventivas, por lo que las intervenciones dirigidas a personas que viven con VIH deberían integrar el fortalecimiento de la autovaloración sexual, la atención del malestar emocional y el desarrollo de habilidades de comunicación y negociación.
